Senior Software Maintenance Engineer (3rd Line)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Maintenance Engineer (3rd Line) to join our dynamic team.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and hands-on expertise to maintain, optimize, and support critical infrastructure, including data center operations, virtualization platforms, and cloud-based systems. With a strong emphasis on problem-solving and operational excellence, you will play a key role in ensuring system stability and scalability.

Responsibilities


  • Provide 3rd level server support for escalated issues across Windows server technologies, VMware, and VEEAM environments
  • Maintain and support global data center operations, ensuring reliability and performance of infrastructure
  • Implement proactive maintenance plans, including patch management and system updates
  • Address monitoring alerts, revise thresholds, and optimize systems to ensure stability
  • Perform root cause analysis while adhering to vendor-recommended troubleshooting techniques
  • Create and regularly update build documentation and operating procedures to support infrastructure maintenance
  • Identify and execute projects to enhance infrastructure systems across virtualization and cloud environments
  • Document and enforce policies, standards, and system procedures to ensure operational consistency
  • Coordinate maintenance activities including evening and weekend tasks as required to support uptime
  • Develop Azure Resource Manager templates/JSON files/BICEP scripts for Infrastructure as Code deployments within Template Specs
  • Investigate and resolve Infrastructure as Code deployment errors in Azure environments
  • Lead the planning and execution of technical resources for infrastructure projects and operational efforts


Requirements


  • Residence in Ukraine (remote work eligible only for candidates based in Ukraine)
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in infrastructure support and operations
  • Expertise in VMware, Windows Server, and SAN systems such as NetApp and HP Nimble
  • Strong technical knowledge across Microsoft Operating Systems (Server 2008-2019), Powershell, Office 365, Active Directory, Exchange 2010-2019
  • Proficiency in networking (LAN/WAN), DNS, DHCP, and experience working with HP server and blade systems
  • Background in utilizing PowerShell scripting for automation and improving operational efficiency
  • Experience leading infrastructure projects as a technical resource, including detailed execution planning
  • AWS CLI and Gcloud Command shell expertise with scripting capability
  • Hands-on knowledge of VMware vSphere as 3rd tier support, with VCP-DCV certification preferred
  • Skills in backup tools including VEEAM Backup and Replication (Cloud Endure and CloudRanger preferred)
  • Proven ability to manage virtual instances in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and GCP
  • Understanding of Azure configurations including Virtual WAN, Application Gateway, Route Table, and Azure Policies
  • Familiarity with using Powershell and C# to create runbooks in System Center Orchestrator
  • Office on schedule 3 times per week (Office in cities - Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsa, Dnipro)


Nice to have


  • Background in the insurance or reinsurance industry with knowledge of business functions and processes
  • Showcase of experience supporting SCOM 2012-2019 environments and creating automated workflows
  • Familiarity with advanced backup solutions in hybrid and cloud environments
