About The Role

We are seeking a motivated Junior Front-End Developer to join a dynamic and rapidly expanding CleanTech start-up based in Southampton. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation electric systems designed for the transport and mobility sector. As part of a purpose-driven team, you will work on cutting-edge hardware and create intuitive digital interfaces that facilitate smarter controls and sustainability. Your contributions will directly impact real-world applications, including deployment on boats and other transport environments, helping to reduce emissions and promote greener technologies.

The successful candidate will be involved in building and maintaining cross-platform applications for iOS, Android, and web platforms using Flutter and React. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of designers, backend developers, and embedded engineers to develop responsive, accessible, and visually engaging user interfaces. Additionally, you will connect front-end components to backend systems and embedded hardware via Wi-Fi and REST APIs, ensuring seamless integration and functionality. This hands-on role provides a unique chance to work with real hardware in real-world conditions, gaining invaluable experience in hardware-connected application development.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess 1-2 years of experience in mobile and/or web frontend development. A solid understanding of HTML and CSS is essential, along with a keen interest in learning Flutter and Dart. Experience with React or familiarity with hardware-connected applications will be considered a significant advantage. Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, a collaborative mindset, and a curiosity to explore new technologies. A proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively within a team are vital for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain cross-platform applications for iOS, Android, and web using Flutter and React.
