About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Developer with expertise in PHP and Laravel to join an innovative environmental monitoring business. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be the first dedicated developer within a dynamic team, playing a pivotal role in rebuilding and enhancing a data-driven platform. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing systems that handle large volumes of real-time data, creating intuitive user interfaces, and developing APIs for seamless external integrations. This position provides a chance to work on impactful projects that contribute to environmental science and data analysis, making a tangible difference in how scientific data is collected, processed, and utilized.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in full-stack development, particularly with PHP and Laravel framework.
• Strong proficiency in front-end technologies, especially Vue.js.
• Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Solid understanding of DevOps practices, including Linux and AWS cloud services.
• Version control expertise with Git.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and maintain scalable web applications using Laravel and Vue.js.
• Design and implement robust APIs to facilitate external integrations and data sharing.
• Optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and security.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and data scientists to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Participate in code reviews, ensure adherence to best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for code, systems, and APIs.
• Assist in deploying applications to cloud environments, primarily AWS, and manage ongoing DevOps tasks.
