Network Specialist

Contract Duration: 6 Months (40 Hrs./week)

Location: Rochester, MN (Fully onsite for first 3 months / Later Hybrid)

Overview:

We’re hiring a Telecom/Network Engineer for a long-term hybrid opportunity (equipment provided). The role begins onsite with flexibility to go hybrid after 3 months. Ideal for someone experienced in multi-discipline network infrastructure, security, and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain routing, switching, and wireless systems
• Operate tools for network access control, segmentation (TrustSec, ISE), VPN, secure web access, caching, DNS security
• Participate in investigations and remediation of security-related incidents in coordination with ITOC, Help Desk, and SOC
• Work with software-defined networking (SDN), including firewalls, WAN/LAN, SASE, and cloud networking
• Utilize scripting/automation tools like Splunk, Ansible, Python, .Net to improve operational efficiency
• Follow standard methodologies in both Agile and Waterfall environments

Preferred Skills:

• Cisco background highly desirable
• CCNA certification preferred

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field + 2 years’ relevant experience
• OR Associate’s degree + 4 years’ experience
• OR 6+ years’ hands-on technical experience with no degree
