Your role
The PhD project will focus on Energy Sector Coupling, a key component of the energy transition. In collaboration with an industrial partner — a major energy player in Luxembourg — you will contribute to the enhancement and implementation of a digital model representing the Luxembourgish and cross-border energy landscape.
The doctoral student will be a member of the Doctoral School for Science and Engineering in the doctoral programme in Engineering Sciences aiming to provide interdisciplinary and internationally competitive research training.

Your role

Your Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in the field of the Energy Sector Coupling as described above
- Collaborate with external industrial and academic partners
- Disseminate research findings through publications and conference presentations
- Contribute to teaching activities (1-2 course hours per week or equivalent through student supervision)
Your profile
- A Master’s degree in Engineering (Energy, Mechanical, Electrical or a related field)
- Solid background in the energy domain, ideally with experience in various energy forms (electrical, thermal, etc.)
- Interest and skills in numerical modelling
- Fluency in English is required. Good knowledge of German or French is a strong asset
- Multilingual and international character. Modern institution with a personal atmosphere. Staff coming from 90 countries. Member of the “University of the Greater Region” (UniGR)
