Junior Release Manager

About the role

We’re seeking a Junior Release Manager to join a major digital transformation initiative within a high-profile federal agency. Working as part of the Scheme Platforms Environment & Release team, you’ll support the delivery of coordinated, well-governed releases across a range of core ICT platforms.

You'll play a key role in refining the release lifecycle, assisting in readiness reviews, release scheduling, and deployment coordination. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their release management career, eager to grow within a dynamic, fast-paced, agile environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting in the coordination of release schedules and go/no-go reviews
• Supporting multi-platform release planning (Salesforce, MuleSoft, EDW, SAP, etc.)
• Preparing release documentation such as runbooks and deployment plans
• Liaising with release engineers to understand code branches and dependencies
• Participating in change management, cyber reviews and deployment readiness
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team standups

Skills & Experience

Essential

• 1–2 years’ experience in release management within enterprise environments
• Working knowledge of SDLC, DevOps, CI/CD and tools such as JIRA & Confluence
• Strong collaboration and communication skills (written & verbal)
• Able to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and work under pressure
• Tertiary qualification and/or industry recognised certification (e.g. Diploma of Project Management, SAFe Agile)

Desirable

• Experience in Federal or State Government environments
• Awareness of accessibility principles in digital environments
• Understanding of change and release integration within SDLC
• Experience conducting risk assessments and mitigating security risks
