Senior AI Engineer | €100Bn+ Global Retail Group | Applied AI Systems | Dusseldorf (Hybrid)

AI Futures have been exclusively retained to find a Senior AI Engineer for one of Europe’s largest retail groups, headquartered in Düsseldorf and operating in 30+ countries. With over €100Bn in annual revenue and a clear digital transformation agenda, this is a rare opportunity to join an AI-driven team that is shaping intelligent systems at scale within a global organisation.

You’ll work at the intersection of engineering and applied AI; prototyping, scaling, and integrating machine learning solutions that impact millions of customers across product, operations, logistics, and commerce.

The Role

• Design, prototype, and deploy scalable AI solutions, including LLM and classic ML models
• Collaborate closely with data scientists, engineers, and product teams to bring intelligent features to production
• Support experimentation and iteration of models with real-world impact (forecasting, recommendations, automation)
• Contribute to the build-out of modern AI infrastructure and best practices in engineering
• Integrate AI pipelines with cloud platforms, APIs, and production systems
• (Bonus) Support and optimize MLOps pipelines to ensure model reliability and reusability

The Candidate

• Strong hands-on experience in AI/ML model development, especially in applied or product-oriented settings
• Proven Python expertise and familiarity with common ML/AI frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face)
• Experience building or integrating with cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
• Working knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD for ML, model versioning, and data pipelines is a plus
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams
• Languages: German, English a plus

Hybrid: 1–2 days per week onsite in NRW
