For our department IT Architecture within General Services, we are looking for a (an):

Data Architect (m/f/x)

Main duties:

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture strategies and solutions.
  • Develop and maintain logical and physical data models, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
  • Define data standards, governance practices, and best practices for data security, quality, and lifecycle management.
  • Evaluate and recommend tools and technologies for data storage, integration, processing, and analytics.
  • Oversee the creation and maintenance of data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehouses/lakes.
  • Support data migration initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR) regarding data privacy and security.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the data architecture based on feedback and industry best practices.
  • Assess the system architecture currently in place and recommend solutions to improve it.
  • Ensure that solutions and technologies match the needs and architectural principles of Luxair.

All the above tasks must be performed in compliance with safety rules, security, compliance and in accordance with established rules and processes.

Required profile:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or a related role.
  • Strong expertise in data modelling (relational, dimensional, NoSQL), database design, and integration.
  • Proficiency with data integration tools and platforms.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks).
  • Solid understanding of data governance, metadata management, and master data management.
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with at least one programming/scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
  • Familiarity with data security best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering complex IT systems.
  • Possess a strong technical background an organised and logical mind and can articulate the decisions and rationale behind a chosen design path.
  • A self-starter, versatile, accurate, detail oriented, and “hands-on” approach
  • Able to produce clear and concise documentation
  • Excellent oral and written communication/interpersonal skills in English.
  • Technical Essentials: SQL and SQL Databases, NoSQL, Data Warehouses, ETL, messaging, streaming

  • Be able to work in a team, independently, or autonomously on long tasks
  • Eager to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Taste for details and precision, and strong organizational skills
  • Broad Technical experience with exposure to several of the following: Architect toolsets and modelling languages such as ArchiMate, UML, ERD, etc. Enterprise Architecture: frameworks and models
