Assistant Manager - Portfolio Analyst

We are currently recruiting an Assistant Manager - Portfolio Analyst for our client based in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Job Purpose:

The job holder is responsible to assist the Head of the division in performing the Portfolio Analytics and Portfolio Performance Monitoring. In addition, to assist the Head of the division on all the Operations and Legal & Compliance related day-to-day tasks.

Responsibilities:

• Performs the analysis of the underwriting portfolio for all commercial lines (marine and non-marine) handled within the division.
• Analyse and monitor the performance of the division’s inward facultative portfolio.
• Run appropriate deep-dive data analysis to support the underwriting strategy of the division as required.
• Develop and maintain Management Information System (MIS) reports and dashboards to track the division’s portfolio performance.
• Analyse and synthesize both quantitative and qualitative data to develop a pricing strategy for the division.
• Gain expertise in analytical techniques and commercial reinsurance knowledge to provide regular insights and analysis from the datasets.
• Identification of performance issues, opportunities and recommendations to improve a profitable growth.
• Run/Produce/Analyse reports to review trends in the claims data part as of the portfolio performance.
• Assist in the process of enhancement of the datasets quality and granularity.
• Collaborate with internal departments to enhance the granularity and quality of our datasets.
• Strive for continuous enhancement in reliability and capability in portfolio monitoring tools
• Assist in preparing the division’s premium budget projection in line with the company budget exercise.
• Assist in monitoring monthly the premium production versus the budget.
• Contribute to the Operations process of the division in line with the company quality system procedures.
• Collaborate with the Underwriting team to facilitate the financial reconciliation process.
• Support the Underwriting and the Pricing and Analytics teams in the delivery of analysis of the division’s portfolio performance.
• Contribute to the Legal & Compliance (KYC, sanctions screening, etc) and Anti-Money Laundering and Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML and CFT) processes.
• Assist in developing the implementation of efficient policies, processes, procedures, controls, and guidelines for the division.
• Works with the Underwriting team and other departments to improve processes and reduce barriers to achievement.
• Coaching of the underwriting team about the portfolio monitoring, analysis, and pricing.
• Assist in preparing monthly reports, dashboard's and metrics, and present results and recommendations to a variety of audiences, including executive management.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Actuarial Science).
• Professional certifications like Dip CII/ACII, ARM
• 5 to 8 years in a relevant role, ideally in insurance/reinsurance analytics.
• Certified in Data Analytics.
• Strong numerical and data manipulation skills.
