Senior / Principal Kotlin Engineer - Contract

£650-£750 per day - negotiable

We're after an experienced Java/ Kotlin engineer on a contract basis (outside IR35) who wants to solve hard technical problems, with experience in building data-intensive, high-throughput systems. This is a small, high-impact team working on a central data store supporting mission-critical platforms at a global scale.

What you'll do:

• Design and build highly concurrent, data-intensive systems on a project for a tier one investment bank
• Leverage big data technologies, distributed caches, and modern data stores
• Solve challenging engineering problems at scale, ensuring reliability and performance under heavy load.

What you'll need:

• Strong Kotlin experience is mandatory
• Background in highly concurrent, data intensive systems is mandatory
• Knowledge of distributed systems and scalable data architectures is mandatory
• Flink/Trino or similar preferred not essential
• Banking/ finance - preferred but not essential, if not must have experience working in enterprise environments with good tenures on critical projects
