In this role you are driving mobile development as a Software Engineer – iOS building modern, secure and scalable applications driving better outcomes and product solutions to our customers.

The CBA Technology Unit delivers the best digital banking services to Commonwealth Bank customers and to do so is responsible for digital delivery, group data and analytics, technology and technology infrastructure, cyber, fraud, physical security, and business resilience for all divisions across CBA. It is also dedicated to delivering the best workplace technology experience for over 53.000 people across CBA and are focused on providing the latest tools, technology, and resources to enhance the way we work together, thereby empowering our people to achieve more for our customers.
As a Software Engineer, you’ll be consulted on product and feature designs and will be critical to their quality implementation and delivery. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the evolution of our mobile services and the business strategy. You’ll also be invited to attend our regular engineering guilds to broaden your expertise and participate in agile ceremonies, which will allow you to contribute to and define the way we operate.

- Have passion for designing, developing, and deploying high-quality mobile software solutions, specifically in iOS.
- Are ready to execute state-of-the-art coding practices, driving high-quality outcomes to solve core business objectives and minimise risks.
- Contribute to a culture where quality, excellence, and collaboration are championed.
- Have a natural drive to educate, communicate, and positively influence various stakeholder groups.
- Are constantly thinking outside the box and breaking boundaries to solve complex technical problems.
- Can coach junior engineers and share knowledge to uplift and improve software development practices.
- Work well in teams and have strong collaboration skills in driving continuous improvement initiatives.
At CBA, we use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these will set you up for success in this team:
- Have proven experience developing accessible and secure native mobile solutions for iOS applications with SwiftUI.
- Have a keen interest in researching new AI tooling and experience in leveraging AI coding assistants such as Cursor, Roo Code and Cline.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with MVVM, Coordinator Pattern & async/await.
- Knowledge of cross platform technologies.
- Advanced experience in best standards and first-in-class software engineering and design principles in mobile.
- Possess advanced knowledge in source control management such as Git and Gitflow.
- Have experience with CI/CD - TeamCity and exposure to testing automation including UI tests.
- Experience with Github Actions would be a plus.
