Job Title : Cyber Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) position

Contract Duration : ASAP- Till 5 months with a possibility of extension

Job Description

Overseeing the security aspects of industrial projects, particularly during the procurement and execution phases. The person in this role works closely with system and project owners to perform due diligence on new equipment purchases, ensuring they meet internal IT security requirements.

As Project security support you will:

• Play an active role in all process & technology improvement initiatives (knowledgebase, lesson learned, internal improvement projects, knowledge transfer, etc).
• Manage and track activities that enhance the security of industrial projects.
• Develop and maintain a good relationship with all personnel working on the projects, especially the IT system owners.
• Work with IT system owners and subject matter experts to design and validate good practice security solutions for the industrial system projects
• Oversee the project deliverables, capture risks and escalations, monitor scope and budget.
• Capture project weekly status, including completed and planned activities.
• Provide proactive communications and regular project management reports for IT Management and project Steering Committee.

Experience:

• Strong background in security is essential
• Solid experience in IT networking required
• This is not a project management role, but a senior-level Subject Matter Expert (SME) position
• Steer and facilitate discussions effectively
• No strict requirement for years of experience, but the candidate should realistically meet the skill and experience expectations
• Unique aspect of the role: combination of deep technical expertise and strong people skill

Must have:

• Managing projects inherently involves managing people
• Excellent communicator in English and French
• Capable of building bridges and trusted relationships across various IT stakeholder groups
• Solid general understanding of cybersecurity
• Knowledge of how defense in depth is applied in practice
• Critical thinker when it comes to:
• Reviewing documents
• Assessing and challenging project content
