ML Engineer, Elisa Industriq (Helsinki, Tampere, Turku)

We’re looking for a skilled and motivated ML Engineer to join our growing team.

Elisa’s Smart Energy team is expanding rapidly, and we are seeking talented individuals to join our dynamic team of over 40 employees. Our multidisciplinary team leverages data and AI to address challenges posed by wind and solar energy becoming primary sources of power, through intelligently managed energy storage. We are providing solutions for the telecom sector (read more about it from www.elisa.com/des), homeowners (https://elisa.fi/kotiakku/) and Commercial and Industrial sector (f.ex Loviisan Lämpö). 

As a (Sr) ML Engineer, your main focus will be designing implementing and maintaining MLOps pipelines and participate in developing solutions for data handling and machine learning. This role requires strong data integration skills and solid coding experience. 

Elisa’s Smart Energy Team’s innovative AI-based solution optimizes energy storage assets, delivering financial, operational, and sustainability benefits to telecom, commercial, industrial and residential clients. We are not only helping businesses and individuals maximize their energy storage potential but also driving the green energy transition by enabling renewable energy production and stabilizing electricity grids.

• Design, implement, and maintain MLOps pipelines.
• Continuously monitor and optimize ML models and data operations for peak performance.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of our core data and MLOps platform.
  
  

What do we expect from you?  

• 3+ years of experience in software and data/ML engineering.
• Proven experience with Databricks (MLFlow, data pipelines) in a production environment.
• Strong Python proficiency.
• Practical development experience on a major cloud platform (AWS preferred).
• A commitment to writing maintainable, well-tested code.
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English.
  
  

Most of our team is based in Helsinki, with some colleagues in Tampere and Turku. We follow a flexible hybrid work model across Southern Finland, typically spending three days a week at the office. This role requires a security clearance, which means candidates must have resided in Finland for at least five years.

Additional Skills That Set You Apart

• Prior experience in machine learning or data science.
• A solid understanding of energy markets, particularly balancing reserve markets, would be a significant advantage.
