Join our team as a Senior or Mid-Level Data Engineer and help build the next generation of Hoxhunt's human-first cybersecurity platform, serving over 3 million users. We're strengthening our team with two new members to power our product with robust data pipelines and high-quality datasets that enable insights for both customers and internal teams.
What You'll Do
This role involves designing, developing, maintaining and deploying our core data pipeline components and building our dataset offering, including crafting new datasets and improving the existing to meet the growing needs of our customers and product teams. In addition to data engineering, there’s also a possibility to tackle problems in the domains of data science, machine learning and data analytics based on your interests and preferences as the team is a hybrid data team consisting of both data engineering and data science components and experts. Also, there are plenty of room for software development around our data pipeline components and services. Below is a list of core responsibilities but the emphasis varies depending on your seniority.

The salary range for the position is €5000–€6500, depending on your skills and experience.

What You'll Do

- Participate in the technical design, development, and maintenance of core data pipeline components
- Participate in the technical decision-making related to the future development of our data architecture and technology stack
- Manage and operate data pipelines and orchestration tools like Cloud Composer / Airflow.
- Maintain and improve data science and analytics platforms and tooling, including custom internal tools, Vertex AI notebooks and Dataform
- Ensure the reliability, scalability and observability of our data pipelines components and tooling
- Closely collaborate with other data teams including AI, Product Analytics and Threat Operations teams consisting of 20+ data professionals, and also the Platform / SRE team
- Participate in code reviews, pair programming, and knowledge sharing to raise the bar
- Act as a technical mentor to the team’s other engineers
- Participate in data science, ML and analytics initiatives based on your interests

Skills You Need To Succeed In This Role
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience in data engineering
- Proficiency in Python programming
- Proficiency in SQL
- Experience with cloud platforms (we use GCP, but experience with AWS or Azure is also sufficient)
- Experience with orchestration tools, specifically Airflow / Cloud Composer.
- Experience with cloud SQL databases (preferably BigQuery)
- Proven ability to take ownership and drive projects to completion
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Willingness and ability to mentor other engineers
- Databases including ClickHouse and MongoDB
- Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform
- MLOps and ML at scale
- Dataform or dbt
- Golang
- Experienced with agile development and iterative teamwork
- You care about making an impact and take ownership of your work from idea to execution
- You think critically, break down complex problems, and enjoy working through solutions with others
- You're curious by nature and always looking for ways to grow and improve
