Senior Cyber Security Engineer

We’re partnering with a fast-growing, European financial services group known for its dynamic and strategic approach to building resilient, secure, and scalable IT environments.

We’re looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join a growing security team. In this role, you’ll help shape, operate, and continuously improve technical security controls, protecting systems, data, and people across the company.

Key responsibilities:

• Work across a modern security stack, including Microsoft Defender, Azure Security Center, Intune, Conditional Access, and Purview, and you’ll be the go-to expert on Microsoft security.
• Configure, operate, and enhance key tooling: SIEM, EDR, vulnerability scanners, email security platforms, and even honeypots. If you’ve used tools like Rapid7, Abnormal Security, or Recorded Future, you’ll feel right at home.
• Collaborate with Security Operations, GRC, and IT teams to identify and mitigate risk through smart, risk-based controls.
• Support and sometimes lead incident response activities, from triage to recovery, with confidence, especially under pressure.
• Represent the security team during internal and external audits, contributing to remediation planning and tracking.
• Help drive compliance with regulations like DORA, embedding operational resilience across systems and teams.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What we’re looking for:

• Hands-on experience with SIEMs, EDR, and vulnerability management platforms, especially Rapid7 IDR/IVM, Defender, or equivalents.
• Experience supporting security audits, either as a lead or technical contributor, and a good grasp of risk and remediation tracking.
• Comfort navigating incident response, you know how to stay calm, coordinate, and contain.
• Exposure to DORA and regulatory requirements related to operational resilience.
• Experience in technical security engineering or operations role, preferably in a regulated environment (finance a big plus).
• Deep familiarity with Microsoft 365 and Azure security controls, including threat protection, compliance, and endpoint security.
• Strong communication skills, able to influence and collaborate across departments and functions.
