The Role:

As a Backend Engineer, you’ll play a key role in architecting and developing the server-side infrastructure for both the clients core platform and custom client solutions. You’ll work on complex systems ranging from multi-vendor e-commerce engines to digital wallets, influencer tracking, and MLM commission logic — all at scale.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and build secure, scalable, and performant backend systems
• Develop modular APIs and microservices for:
• Multi-vendor e-commerce
• Digital wallet transactions and secure payment gateways
• Influencer and affiliate tracking tools
• UGC (User-Generated Content) management
• MLM commission engines and dashboards
• Implement real-time features using WebSockets or Server-Sent Events (SSE)
• Integrate AI-based services, recommendation engines, and personalization logic
• Design optimized schemas for both SQL (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases

Client Project Delivery

• Build custom backend solutions for diverse agency and enterprise clients
• Deliver RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints
• Set up secure auth systems (OAuth, JWT, role-based access)
• Integrate with third-party APIs, CRMs, and payment providers

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Manage cloud environments on AWS or GCP
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and automated testing workflows
• Monitor performance, error logs, and system health
• Ensure compliance with security, backup, and disaster recovery protocols

Collaboration & Leadership

• Lead backend architecture discussions and database optimization efforts
• Conduct peer code reviews and enforce best practices
• Collaborate closely with frontend/mobile teams for seamless integration
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal documentation

Requirements:

• 5+ years of backend development experience
• Proficiency in Node.js, Python (Django or Flask), or Java/Spring Boot
• Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture, Docker, and cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with authentication, authorization, and secure payments
• Experience using testing frameworks and API tools (Postman, Swagger)

Nice to Have:

• Experience with MLM or commission-based platforms
• Exposure to blockchain, cryptocurrency, or tokenized systems
• Background in fintech or e-commerce product development
• Familiarity with event-driven systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Previous work in startups or agencies
• Arabic language skills or knowledge of the MENA region
