Game Programmer

A remote opportunity is available for a game developer to contribute to The Paragon Protocol, an ambitious open-world narrative project featuring a customizable protagonist—a genetically altered private detective hiding godlike powers. The game centers around choice-driven storytelling, where morality, relationships, reputation, and visual changes to the protagonist and their weapon evolve based on player decisions. Set in a dynamic city with reactive NPCs and faction systems, the project explores themes of secrecy, power, and identity across parallel universes. The ideal collaborator will help develop core gameplay systems, including choice-based mechanics, AI behavior, dynamic environments, and branching story logic. This is a single-project engagement, with the potential for continued collaboration as the development progresses.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in game development with RPG or open-world mechanics
• Proficiency in game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
• Ability to build or support systems for branching narratives, morality tracking, and character customization
• Understanding of dynamic world-building, AI behavior, and reactive NPC systems
• Familiarity with save-state management for multiple endings and world impact
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to collaborate closely in a narrative-rich, evolving project
• Remote work readiness with clear, consistent communication
• Portfolio or project examples demonstrating relevant game development experience preferred
