Senior Software Engineer

About Them

Having been in the market since 2016 and already turning a profit they're looking to add a Senior Fullstack Engineer to join their team of 4. Working within the hospitality space, you'll be responsible for working across the whole eco-system, as well as their suite of applications which includes their web portal, public interface, IoT system and the payment integration.

About The Role

• Industry Integrations: Build API connections with key partners and vendors, directly impacting the revenue pipeline and customer experience.
• Web Portal Modernisation: Lead the technical redesign of the customer facing portal - this involves architectural decisions, performance optimisation, and user experience improvements that will serve as the foundation for future growth.
• Production System Ownership: Become the go-to person for system reliability, gaining deep knowledge of the architecture while ensuring customer uptime and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Built and deployed production applications using React & Node.
• Hands-on AWS experience beyond basic usage - comfortable with multiple services and cloud architecture decisions.
• Debug complex issues.
• Work with the legacy codebases and technical debt remediation.
• Work across both frontend user experience and backend API design.

Tech Stack & Experience Required - 5 + years

• React (v18+ ideally) - modern frontend development
• Node.js (v16+ ideally) - the backend API services
• AWS Cloud (ECS, RDS, S3, Cloudwatch) - they're mostly cloud-native
• Docker - for containerisation and deployment
• Jest - unit and integration testing

Nice to Have's:

• GraphQL - they're gradually migrating from REST
• TypeScript - improving code quality across our stack
