🚀 Founding Backend Engineer – TypeScript, Infra, AI-native Finance

📍 Amsterdam (Hybrid – 2 days/week)

💸 €90–105k + Equity (pre-Series A)

I'm looking for a founding backend engineer to help build a brand-new AI-native platform for CFOs, think structured workflows, real-time finance data, and autonomous agents that help businesses make faster, sharper decisions.

Greenfield. Fully cloud-native. No technical debt.

They’ve already landed their first pilot customers and have real backing. Now it’s about building properly — with the care of a seasoned engineer, not the duct tape of a hackathon.

This is a backend engineering role, not DevOps, not frontend, with a strong infra mindset.

We’re talking real engineering here:

• TypeScript across the board — not just for app-layer logic, but backend and infra too
• GCP-native – Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, BigQuery, IAM, Monitoring
• Pulumi for IaC – clean, reusable infrastructure code (no YAML hell)
• GitHub Actions, CI/CD, containerised everything
• Event-driven architecture – scalable, observable, cost-aware systems from day one
• Tight feedback loops with product and AI teams

Who is this for?

• You write clean, maintainable TypeScript — ideally with 5+ years of backend experience
• You think about things like latency, observability, and deployment while you code
• You’ve designed backend systems that had to scale, evolve, and stay sane
• You’ve worked with GCP, AWS, or Azure, and you’re comfortable in cloud-native setups
• You like infrastructure as code — Pulumi/Terraform/CDK are familiar (or you’re curious to dive in)
