A global pharmaceutical innovator is looking for a Freelance AI Engineer with deep expertise in Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI to build scalable, production-grade AI solutions that transform how scientific and clinical knowledge is accessed and applied.

You’ll work alongside data scientists, ML researchers, and domain experts to turn cutting-edge models into real-world tools that accelerate R&D and improve patient care.

🛠️ What You'll Do:

• Architect and deploy LLM-powered applications (e.g. medical chatbots, document Q&A systems, insight generation tools)
• Implement advanced retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipelines with vector stores (e.g. FAISS, Weaviate, Pinecone)
• Optimise and fine-tune open-source or proprietary LLMs (e.g. LLaMA, Mistral, GPT-4) for pharma-specific use cases
• Ensure scalability, performance, and security of AI applications in production environments
• Collaborate with MLOps and DevOps to deploy models on cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure)

✅ Requirements:

• Strong experience as an AI Engineer, ML Engineer, or similar role
• Proven track record deploying LLMs or Gen AI models in production (via APIs, containers, or cloud-native apps)
• Hands-on with LangChain, Transformers, Hugging Face, OpenAI, Vector DBs, and orchestration frameworks
• Proficient in Python, with solid understanding of backend integration and API design
• Experience with pharma, biotech, or regulated industries a plus (especially working with unstructured text data)
