Back End Developer

INTRODUCTION

Pavo Group is seeking a Mid-Senior Backend Developer to join our Istanbul Maltepe Office and contribute to mission-critical backend systems in the defense industry. You will collaborate with frontend teams to build secure, scalable, and high-performance solutions using technologies like FastAPI, Docker, and MongoDB. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain secure backend services using FastAPI (Python) and/or Go (Golang) for defense applications.
• Collaborate with frontend teams to integrate APIs, databases, and deployment pipelines.
• Implement and optimize SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB) solutions for mission-critical data storage.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD for automated testing, deployment, and security compliance.
• Write unit/integration tests to ensure code reliability in a high-stakes environment.
• Containerize applications with Docker and manage deployments in secure infrastructure.
• Follow Git-based workflows (feature branches) in GitLab for collaborative, traceable development.
• Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks, debug issues, and enforce system scalability under strict security constraints.

REQUIREMENTS

• 3–5 years of backend development experience with FastAPI (Python) or similar frameworks (Flask, Django).
• Strong proficiency in SQL and NoSQL (MongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with Docker for containerization and secure deployment.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline automation tools (CI/CD, GitHub Actions, Gitlab CI/CD).
• Experience writing unit tests and ensuring code coverage for mission-critical systems.
• Professional English proficiency for clear communication in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Familiarity with Linux systems and command-line tools (bash, shell, etc.) for development and deployment.

PREFERRED/PLUS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience with Go (Golang) for backend development in secure systems.
• Familiarity with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) or microservices architecture.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio of backend applications in security-sensitive domains.
• Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and DevOps practices.
• Hands on experience with LLM frameworks, agentic pipelines and tools etc.
