Cyber Security Analyst

Our client is looking for a skilled IT Cyber Security Analyst to help protect their systems and data from cyber threats. In this role, you'll identify vulnerabilities, implement security measures, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This position is based at the client's head office in Port Coquitlam, BC, and requires on-site work 5 days per week. Candidates must be elligible to work in Canada.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, maintain and monitor security policies, procedures, protocols and retail technology environments
  • Monitor and analyze the client's complete technology stack for security breaches and incidents.
  • Respond to security incidents and provide incident reports.
  • Collaborate in the design and implementation of security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, endpoint protection platforms, cloud application firewalls, zero trust, etc.
  • Collaborate in the design and management of data loss prevention (DLP) solutions, SEIMs, etc.
  • Provide security training and awareness programs for employees, and ensure that training programs are effective, delivering the content required and ensuring that team members are completing the required training.
  • Collaborate with other IT staff and departments to ensure security measures are integrated into all aspects of the organization’s IT infrastructure.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies – you must have strong understanding of vulnerabilities, risks and be an advocate for excellence.
  • Develop and promote cyber security best practices within the organization.
  • Ensure we’re compliant with compliant with PCI standards both from a technology perspective and through assisting in ongoing training and awareness.
  • Maintain incident response plans, coordinate table top exercises, etc.
  • Coordinate and conduct ongoing security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications are desirable.
  • Proven experience in IT security, including cyber security, PCI, and data security/privacy.
  • Strong knowledge of security standards.
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, antivirus software, endpoint protection platforms, SIEM systems, DLP solutions, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
