Senior Network Engineer – Trading Connectivity (Singapore)

EC1 Partners is working with a highly regarded buy-side firm, known for its sophisticated trading infrastructure, global presence, and strong investment in technology. As they continue to evolve and scale their trading systems, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Network Engineer in Singapore to play a critical role in ensuring low-latency, highly resilient connectivity across all trading venues and counterparties.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead the design, implementation, and support of the firm’s global network infrastructure, with a focus on trading connectivity
• Manage connectivity to exchanges, brokers, dark pools, and other liquidity venues, ensuring performance and uptime meet the needs of the trading business
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues across data centres and cloud environments, often in latency-sensitive contexts
• Collaborate closely with internal trading, infrastructure, and application teams as well as external vendors and service providers
• Maintain and optimise routing protocols, firewalls, and network segmentation to ensure security and compliance
• Take ownership of projects to evolve the firm’s network stack, including upgrades, migrations, and monitoring improvements
• Document network topology and operational procedures, contributing to a high-performing and resilient network function

Requirements

• Proven experience as a senior-level Network Engineer in a low-latency or trading environment (buy-side, sell-side, or trading venues)
• CCIE certification highly preferred (or demonstrable equivalent expertise)
• Deep understanding of BGP, OSPF, multicast, and network security best practices
• Experience managing connectivity to trading venues and external counterparties, including FIX and market data feeds
• Proficiency with Juniper, Cisco, Arista, or similar hardware, and relevant monitoring tools
• Ability to work in high-pressure environments with strong problem-solving and incident management skills
• Strong documentation, communication, and stakeholder management abilities
• Prior financial services experience is preferred but not essential – technical excellence and reliability are key
