We are seeking a highly motivated Scrum Master & Agile Coach to join our Agile Release Train (ART). As a servant leader and coach, you will support Agile Teams by facilitating Agile ceremonies, removing impediments, fostering a high-performance team environment, and driving relentless improvement. You will serve as a key enabler of SAFe adoption across the enterprise by guiding teams and stakeholders in Lean-Agile best practices.
The ideal candidate is passionate about Agile principles, skilled in Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe, and experienced in coaching cross-functional teams toward self-organization, innovation, and continuous delivery of value.
Key Responsibilities:
Agile Team Facilitation
- Serve as a Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams within a SAFe ART.
- Facilitate all team-level Agile ceremonies including:
- Iteration Planning
- Daily Stand-ups (Team Syncs)
- Backlog Refinement
- Iteration Review
- Iteration Retrospective
- Ensure teams follow Agile practices, principles, and SAFe guidelines.
Program Increment (PI) Planning & Execution
- Prepare teams for and facilitate PI Planning sessions.
- Help teams draft and commit to PI objectives aligned with ART goals.
- Coordinate with other teams to manage dependencies and risks.
- Support iteration execution in alignment with ART cadence.
Team Coaching & Development
- Coach Agile teams on self-management, ownership, and accountability.
- Foster high-performing team dynamics, built on trust, transparency, and psychological safety.
- Support cross-skilling, T-shaped skill development, and continuous learning.
- Guide teams in root cause analysis and the use of improvement tools (e.g., 5 Whys, Pareto Analysis).
Flow Optimization
- Establish and maintain the team Kanban board.
- Measure, analyze, and optimize team flow metrics (e.g., cycle time, WIP).
- Ensure built-in quality through adherence to Definition of Done (DoD) and continuous integration.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners to maintain a well-prioritized, clear backlog.
- Facilitate stakeholder engagement and alignment throughout the development lifecycle.
- Represent the team in Scrum of Scrums, ART Syncs, and System Demos.
Enterprise Coaching & Transformation Support
- Coach individuals and teams on SAFe Lean-Agile principles, mindset, and behaviors.
- Work with SPCs and Agile PMO to advance Agile maturity across the organization.
- Support Communities of Practice (CoPs) and foster knowledge sharing.
- Coach stakeholders and non-Agile teams on effective Agile interactions.
Inspect & Adapt (I&A)
- Prepare teams for Inspect & Adapt workshops and PI System Demos.
- Facilitate team participation in problem-solving and retrospective sessions.
- Help plan improvement stories and track progress toward continuous improvement goals.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, Agile Coach, or Agile Project Manager
- SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) or Advanced Scrum Master (SASM) certification required
- SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) or coaching certifications (e.g., ICP-ACC) preferred
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks: Scrum, Kanban, XP, SAFe
- Proven experience facilitating Agile ceremonies and Agile Release Train events
- Strong knowledge of Lean, Agile, and SAFe principles
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and maturity journeys
- Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and conflict-resolution skills
- Comfortable working with distributed teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
