SENIOR SOFTWARE PHP DEVELOPER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for a Senior Software PHP Developer for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading expert network, providing business and government professionals with opportunities to communicate with industry and subject-matter experts to answer research questions. Their customers consult with these experts over the phone, in person at conferences, teleconferences, custom events, and workshops, or may gather their primary research data through surveys, polls, or web-based data offerings. Experts are categorized into six main industry sectors: healthcare, financial and business services, consumer goods and services; energy, industrials, and basic materials; tech, media, and telecom; and legal and regulatory. Since 2003, the company has provided its clients with primary research services, helping professionals comprehensively understand a topic before making significant investment and/or business decisions. Their multinational client list includes nine top 10 consulting firms, hundreds of hedge funds, and many of the largest private equity firms and fortune-ranked companies.

Requirements

5–8 years of professional experience in PHP development.
Proven expertise in the Symfony framework, especially in API-based architecture.
Experience with Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker).
Solid understanding of OOP, MVC design patterns, and modern development practices.
Strong experience with SQL (queries, optimization, stored procedures).
Basic experience with JavaScript.
Experience maintaining or integrating JS code.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong communication and team collaboration skills.

Nice to have

Working knowledge of React.js or other modern JavaScript frameworks.
Experience with version control tools (e.g., Bitbucket).
Experience working with AKS and other cloud technologies is preferred.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain robust PHP applications using the Symfony framework.
Build and integrate RESTful APIs to support front-end and back-end services.
Write complex SQL queries and manage stored procedures for high-performance data operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and QA engineers.
Independently manage assigned tasks, from requirements gathering to deployment.
Follow best practices to ensure high-quality, testable, and maintainable code.
Troubleshoot and resolve software bugs and performance bottlenecks.
Leverage Kubernetes and containerization for application deployment and scaling.
