Mid–Senior Backend Developer – Sunshine Coast Based

Xestro is Australia’s largest healthcare SaaS provider for private medical specialist practices. We’re expanding quickly and seeking an experienced Mid–Senior Backend Developer to join our Maroochydore team. This is a full-time, in-office role suited to someone who is already settled on the Sunshine Coast.

🔧 Role Overview

• Build and maintain scalable backend systems using Core PHP and MySQL
• Collaborate with Frontend, Product, and SysOps/DevOps teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions
• Extend and optimise database structures with a focus on speed and scalability
• Develop and maintain internal and external REST APIs
• Contribute to compliance and security efforts within a regulated healthcare environment

✅ About You

Core Skills

• Strong experience with Core PHP
• Proficient in MySQL, including performance tuning
• Comfortable working with legacy codebases and frameworks
• Experience with RESTful API development and integration
• Familiar with Git-based workflows

Bonus

• Exposure to ReactJS and jQuery
• Hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure
• Background in CI/CD, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of healthcare data security and privacy requirements
• Experience collaborating with DevOps or SysOps teams
