Job Description :

As a Medior Information Security Engineer, you play a key role in safeguarding the organization’s digital assets and IT infrastructure from internal and external threats. With 2–5 years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity, you are skilled at detecting, analyzing, and responding to security incidents in a structured and timely manner. You will work both proactively—by strengthening defenses and conducting threat hunting—and reactively—by mitigating breaches and minimizing potential damage.

Key Responsibilities

• Security Operations Center (SOC) Involvement:
• You are an integral part of the SOC team, where you actively monitor the organization’s security posture, detect anomalies, and escalate critical issues.
• Threat Detection & Incident Response:
• You investigate suspicious activities using SIEM and EDR tools, determine the root cause of potential breaches, and take corrective actions to contain and eradicate threats.
• Security Monitoring & Maintenance:
• You ensure that monitoring tools such as IDS/IPS, antivirus platforms, and logging systems are properly configured, updated, and functioning optimally. You help develop and fine-tune detection rules and alerts.
• Vulnerability & Penetration Testing:
• You conduct regular penetration tests and vulnerability assessments to identify potential security gaps in networks, applications, and systems, providing remediation recommendations to technical teams.
• Security Incident Documentation:
• You thoroughly document security incidents, including timelines, indicators of compromise, and resolution steps, and contribute to post-incident reviews to strengthen future response strategies.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation:
• You assess the impact of security breaches, quantify the associated risks, and collaborate with stakeholders to implement mitigation strategies aligned with organizational policies.
• Compliance & Best Practices:
• You help ensure that the organization complies with relevant security standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and follow best practices for data protection and cyber hygiene.

• You have a basic understanding of secure coding principles and may have exposure to application security testing or CI/CD security practices.
