About the Role

We are looking for a Technical Manager who leads through action, someone who codes daily, architects scalable systems, mentors developers, and ensures engineering best practices. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll manage a high-performing team while staying deep in the codebase, guiding both day-to-day technical execution and long-term architecture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write clean, maintainable, scalable code in a modern object-oriented language (PHP preferred).
  • Lead system and component design for high-volume, distributed applications.
  • Mentor and up-skill engineers, instilling engineering discipline, quality standards, and technical growth.
  • Coordinate deployments, debug complex issues, and continuously improve platform reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with Product and other departments to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Drive Agile delivery (Scrum/Kanban), manage sprints using tools like JIRA.
  • Own observability, logging, and alerting using tools such as Datadog or NewRelic.
  • Ensure proper documentation, secure coding, and compliance with standards like GDPR/PCI.

Qualifications

Must-Have Skills / Qualifications

  • BSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years experience in software engineering, including technical leadership.
  • Passion, energy, and hands-on technical excellence.
  • Expert in PHP for large-scale applications.
  • Strong experience with MVC frameworks (Laravel, Symfony).
  • Deep knowledge of Yii framework.
  • Solid skills in CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX.
  • Experience with Git, Agile development, and JIRA.
  • Basic understanding of Unix/Linux environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Familiarity with AngularJS.
  • Experience with CRM/ERP software development.
  • Proven work on SaaS platforms.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP).
  • Experience working in the UAE/KSA tech ecosystem.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
