Release Manager

We are looking for a Release Manager. 12-month contract + 12-month extension. MULTIPLE LOCATIONS (Australia Wide)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Release Manager to support a large-scale transformation program, delivering critical ICT-based solutions that improve national services. This role will focus on managing and coordinating enterprise-level system releases across various platforms, ensuring delivery quality and schedule alignment with business goals.

Working within a collaborative team and reporting to the EL1 Release Manager, you’ll be responsible for maintaining robust release management processes and ensuring compliance with governance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establish and execute Release Management frameworks across multiple business systems
• Coordinate end-to-end release cycles across applications such as Salesforce, MuleSoft, SAP, EDW and more
• Maintain the release schedule, balancing dependencies and priorities across technical and business needs
• Drive key forums and engagement with internal and external delivery partners
• Produce release documentation including runbooks, deployment plans and implementation artefacts
• Ensure alignment with ICT Change Processes including cyber risk assessments and security testing
• Provide leadership and continuous improvement across all release management practices

Skills & Experience

We’re looking for a driven professional with:

• Minimum 3 years' experience in enterprise-level release management
• Hands-on knowledge of SDLC, DevOps and CI/CD processes
• Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Confluence and Agile delivery methods
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and time management skills
• Tertiary qualifications and industry-recognised certifications (e.g. SAFe Agile or Diploma of Project Management)

Desirable:

• Government sector experience
• Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design
• Understanding of Change Management and SDLC in a federal ICT context
• Risk management experience in secure systems
