Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Engineer

Brayton Global is currently looking for a Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Engineer to work for a prestigious client based in Brussels (hybrid work)

Job Description

• Gathering and analysis of the business requirements;
• Technical analysis and specifications of BI and DA solutions;
• Exploratory data analysis to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets for diagnosis and prediction;
• Definition and drafting of training and support procedures;
• Architecture, design, deployment, and management of Data Platforms;
• Design, modelling, development, management and review of end-to-end BI and DA products based on on-prem and cloud data platforms, including ETL, Data Lakes, Data Warehouse, visualizations for non-specialist (eg: reports, charts, and dashboards), export mechanism (eg: APIs);
• Set-up CI/CD pipelines including automatic testing and quality assurance;
• Maintenance of BI and DA products, including troubleshooting, bug fixing, performance analysis, technical migrations;
• Integration and reusability of COTS, SaaS, PaaS and SaaS;
• Conception and implementation of data protection measures, data security measures and disclosure control;

Qualifications

What would make you a fit for the role:

• Master's/Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant experience
• In depth knowledge of modern data platforms architecture, including integration of different products/technologies to deliver data-driven solutions;
• In dept knowledge of data modelling for data lakes and data warehouses (eg: Medallion Architecture, Star Schema and Kimball);
• In depth knowledge of SQL (eg: Oracle, SQL Server,…);
• In depth knowledge of orchestration (eg: Airflow) and ETL tools (eg: DBT, SSIS,);
• In depth knowledge of visualization tools (eg: PowerBI);
• In depth knowledge of programming languages for data analytics (eg: python, R, …);
• Experience in setting up a Centre of Competence to provide advice, support and training for Business Intelligence and Data Analytics related activities for technical and non-technical users;

It would also be a plus if you match some of the following:

• Experience in real time reporting would be an asset;
• Experience in linked open data and semantic technologies, ontologies, metadata standards, reference databases, multilingual thesauri and taxonomies would be an asset;
• Experience in big data, geospatial data, unstructured information, automated document classification and reference databases would be an asset;
• Experience in cloud environments and containerization would be an asset.
