Job Description

We’re looking for a Senior SAP Basis Architect & Project Manager to join our SAP Technology team in Zurich. In this strategic assignment, you'll play a critical role on maintaining and enhancing SIKA's SAP landscape as well as managing complex projects such as cloud migrations and data center transition, while ensuring the performance, stability, and security of enterprise-grade SAP systems. The Senior SAP Basis Architect & Project Manager shall report to the Lead SAP Basis Service Delivery as part of the SAP Technology Team, under the goal of modernizing legacy systems with robust architectural solutions in both cloud and on-premise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, deploy, manage and optimize cloud-based systems predominantly in MS Azure.
• Maintain, enhance and optimize SAP systems (on-premise and cloud) including S/4HANA and various other SAP solutions.
• Lead SAP data center migrations and transitions to cloud platforms such as MS Azure and other cloud infrastructure providers while acting as a technical project manager.
• Ensure optimal cloud network and security in a hybrid environment.
• Lead modernization initiatives/projects for legacy systems.
• Define and implement high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
• Manage S/4 HANA and other system upgrades, from budgeting and planning to realization and hypercare.
• Collaborate with various teams to architect new solutions, including infrastructure, security, and application support areas.
• Work with a diverse application portfolio within SAP ecosystem.
• Mentor other team members and provide architectural advisory across SAP projects and new solution deployments.
• Act as a key advisor for SAP Basis architectural decisions and strategic planning, in alignment with Lead SAP Basis Service Delivery.
  
  

Qualifications

• 8+ years of SAP Basis experience including either architect and/or lead role.
• Proven track record of leading complex SAP migrations (on-prem to cloud and/or cloud-to-cloud).
• Hands-on expertise with SAP on Microsoft Azure and/or other cloud infrastructure providers.
• Deep understanding of SAP architecture: ABAP/Java stacks, NetWeaver, Fiori HANA DB and Linux.
• Experience with application lifecycle management tools.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Fluency in both German and English is required.
• SAP Certified Technology Architect or similar certification is a plus.
• Exposure to RISE with SAP migration projects is a plus.
