Senior Backend Engineer

QuantumGate is a startup within VentureOne, supported by the Advanced Technology Research Council (ATRC) and its research arm, the Technology Innovation Institute (TII). We specialize in developing and commercializing advanced post-quantum cryptographic solutions, with a mission to secure enterprise digital environments through cutting-edge protocols and applications that tackle the challenges of the post-quantum era.

We are seeking a seasoned Backend Engineer for our cloud and on-prem solution. The ideal candidate thrives in modern infrastructure environments—both cloud and on-premises—and has a strong track record of delivering scalable, secure, and distributed systems. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex system architecture and high-impact backend services in a dynamic and collaborative setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement backend services using Golang with an emphasis on secure, scalable architecture
• Build and maintain distributed systems deployed across cloud and on-premises environments
• Apply Domain Driven Design and established design patterns to ensure clean, maintainable code
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform
• Manage deployments within Kubernetes clusters, ensuring high availability and resilience
• Work with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) to design efficient data models and queries
• Enforce and enhance security practices, including secure coding, encryption protocols, authentication, and access control
• Collaborate with DevOps and security teams to maintain compliance and system integrity
• Write automation scripts (Bash, Python, etc.) to support tooling and operations

Requirements

• 7–8 years of experience and deep proficiency in Golang
• Deep understanding of algorithms, software architecture, and design principles
• Proven experience developing cloud-native and on-premise applications
• Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes and Terraform
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS
• Security-first mindset with experience in implementing encryption, access control, and secure communication
• Familiarity with scripting, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
