Specialist Security Systems

About the Role:

The Specialist Security Systems team is responsible for designing, implementing, integrating, and overseeing electronic security systems at various airport sites under ADA. This role involves hands-on engineering work, system configuration, and site commissioning. The Specialist will collaborate closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and vendors to ensure that the systems meet operational requirements and comply with security standards and regulations.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop comprehensive electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and intercom systems.
• Participate in system architecture planning, including hardware selection, network layout, and system integration strategies.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to gather technical requirements and translate them into effective security solutions.
• Prepare and review detailed engineering design packages including drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Oversee installation and testing of systems to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with design documents.
• Conduct site inspections and verify installations meet regulatory and client standards.
• Troubleshoot system issues during and after deployment, providing expert-level support.
• Keep up to date with the latest technologies and best practices in physical and electronic security systems.

Required Education, Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Preferred Certifications (not mandatory): PSP (Physical Security Professional) and CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate).
• PISM, Genetec, Lenel, or similar VMS/ACS vendor certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in designing and implementing electronic security systems.
• Strong understanding of security technologies such as CCTV, ACS, IDS, intercom, VMS, and their network integration.
• Familiarity with airport or critical infrastructure environments is an advantage.
• Proficiency in CAD tools and documentation standards for low voltage/security systems.
• Working knowledge of IP networking, cybersecurity principles, and system hardening techniques.
• Project coordination experience is a plus, though this is primarily a technical role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
