Google specializes in internet-related services and products, including search, advertising, and software. As a software engineer, you will design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and enhance software solutions while managing project priorities and deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Write product or system development code.
- Participate in, or lead design reviews with peers and stakeholders to decide amongst available technologies.
- Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices (e.g., style guidelines, checking code in, accuracy, testability, and efficiency).
- Contribute to existing documentation or educational content and adapt content based on product/program updates and user feedback.
- Triage product or system issues and debug/track/resolve by analyzing the sources of issues and the impact on hardware, network, or service operations and quality.
Qualification
Required
- PhD degree in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Experience in embedded systems/firmware design.
- Experience coding in C or C++.
Preferred
- Knowledge of Unix/Linux environments, and kernel development.
- Knowledge of one or more of the following: Microcontrollers, SoC, device drivers, hardware bringup, power management, ARM processors, performance optimization, file systems, bootloading, firmware, x86 assembly, system BIOS or hardware/software integration.
- Ability to start full-time role in 2025.
