Summary

For our client in Belgium, we are looking for looking for an experienced IT Infrastructure Project Manager for a long-term freelance engagement based in Brussels. You’ll lead complex infrastructure projects within a high-impact IT department, overseeing everything from scoping and planning to delivery and operational handovers. This role suits professionals with strong stakeholder management skills, technical infrastructure knowledge, and a proven ability to drive delivery in hybrid cloud and enterprise environments. As Project Manager – IT Infrastructure, you will deliver end-to-end projects that modernize and secure enterprise IT systems. You’ll lead the full project lifecycle, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risk, and ensure technical alignment with internal architecture and production standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Initiation

• Define scope, deliverables, methodology, timeline, and budget
• Identify stakeholders and align project expectations
• Coordinate with technical architects and business units

Execution & Delivery

• Manage day-to-day project tasks and resource allocation
• Monitor risks, issues, and changes
• Ensure compliance with standards and technical constraints
• Communicate regularly with key stakeholders

Closure & Transition

• Lead knowledge transfer to operational teams
• Document project outcomes and lessons learned
• Ensure readiness for “business as usual” operations

Required Skills & Experience

• Master’s degree or equivalent through experience
• 10+ years in project management with a focus on IT infrastructure
• Project Management certification (e.g., Prince2, PMP, or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of IT systems: virtualization, cloud/hybrid-cloud, endpoints, network, servers, storage
• Experience managing infrastructure upgrades, migrations, or datacenter projects
• Proficient in project governance tools and reporting

Language Requirements

• Fluent in French or Dutch (with good understanding of the other)
• Proficient in technical English
