Senior Software Engineer (full-stack)

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Delivery as a Service (DaaS) team. The team is focused on enabling businesses to tap into Starship’s autonomous delivery service, transforming last-mile delivery into a sustainable, cost-efficient, and reliable experience. Our DaaS team builds and operates the APIs and web tools that enable our customers to request and monitor deliveries from point A to point B. We also provide end users with an intuitive interface to track their delivery robot on a live map and unlock it with their phone upon arrival.

Your main responsibilities are:

• Develop and test new features for both frontend and backend components, while maintaining and improving existing code
• Contribute to enhancing our DaaS Console, DaaS API, and DaaS Tracker by adding valuable new functionality
• Support new customers by assisting with integration to the DaaS API and responding to their technical requests
• Monitor system performance, proactively troubleshoot issues, and enhance platform reliability and stability
• Contribute to strategic tech decisions, from choosing the right tools to defining long-term architecture for growth
• Collaborate closely with other teams within engineering, share knowledge, and raise the bar across the team

What we hope you’ll bring to the table:

• Proven full-stack development expertise, including backend, frontend, and mobile platforms
• Deep experience with Node.js, TypeScript, React, and Docker
• Strong understanding of database design and architecture
• Solid experience in API design and integration
• Ability to work independently with a high level of ownership and accountability
• Comfortable working directly with customers on integration, support, and solution delivery
• A data-driven approach and strong awareness of secure coding practices (OWASP)
• Willingness to contribute across cross-functional teams, stepping in to help where needed
• Senior-level mindset with the ability to mentor, guide, and lead when necessary
• A genuine interest in robotics and enthusiasm for building product-driven solutions that combine hardware and software
• A clear, open, and proactive communication style that fosters strong collaboration
  
  

Experience in the following is beneficial:

• Cloud infrastructure and services: Kubernetes, AWS Cognito
• Databases: PostgreSQL, Redis, MongoDB
• Frameworks: Next.js, NestJS
• Monitoring & observability tools such as Grafana
• Additional languages and systems: GoLang, Kafka, Jenkins
• High Availability (HA) architectures and testing frameworks like Jest
• Familiarity with GDPR compliance and secure data handling best practices
