Our healthcare is in crisis, and we need to do something about it. This is why we come to work every morning.
Nightingale Health’s mission is to build sustainable healthcare and reduce health inequalities. Nightingale Health has developed the world’s most advanced health check that provides risk detection for multiple chronic diseases from a single blood sample.
It’s time to start building a better health system for everyone.
At Nightingale Health, we're all about people who, rather than just repeat and secure the old, want to create something new; people who love to learn more to be able to build something better, something meaningful – better healthcare for the world.
We are now looking for a Data Scientist to join our team in Helsinki, Finland.
Our blood test technology simultaneously measures different molecules that capture a diverse range of metabolic processes. We have used it to profile a million samples from the world’s largest research studies and linked those results to extensive clinical data and health outcomes. We discover new insights into human health from this data. At Nightingale, you’ll be enabling a technology and approach that has the potential to change the health of billions of people.
Here are the challenges we have for you:
- Hands-on data analysis in a globally unique dataset of molecular and clinical measurements to build models that predict people’s future health risks and identify how they can improve their preventative health.
- Work with other data scientists and software engineers in an agile environment to bring new discoveries into our products.
- Develop the domain expertise required to apply predictive models to specific areas of health.
- Carry out analysis for clinical and academic partnerships using our technology.
- Write clean, readable code for your own analysis and to be used as the basis for future products. Review teammates’ code to maintain high standards.
- Bring new ideas on how to make our health insights more understandable and exciting for customers.
You are our perfect match if you ...
- Have studied and/or worked on health data before and are excited about learning new things from big datasets.
- Have an MSc or Bachelor’s in a scientific field like bioinformatics, biomedicine, data science, epidemiology, or statistics.
- Can write code for statistical analyses and visualization in R (preferred), Python, or both.
- Can work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on getting things done.
- Want to make a difference in building better preventative healthcare.
These will help you to succeed in this role:
- Real-world data science experience, including data acquisition, cleaning, modeling, and interpretation.
- Experience with epidemiological data analysis.
- Understanding of molecular biology and medicine.
- Diverse backgrounds! Don’t worry if you don’t exactly meet these requirements; we’d still like to hear from you.
Why you’ll love working at Nightingale Health:
- Meaningful, pioneering work that offers you the opportunity to make a difference in the world. Preventative healthcare is a major challenge that needs good brains!
- A unique opportunity to work in an international and multidisciplinary team of scientists, developers, designers, and biotech business experts.
- A chance to develop your skills to a high standard in the biotech world.
- Premium health and travel insurance (valid during and outside working hours) on top of the mandatory occupational health package.
- Full fringe benefits for health and well-being, including massage, dental care, commuting, sports, and culture.
- A flexible and informal working environment with both professional office capabilities as well as hybrid working possibilities.
- An in-house chef and café that serves warm lunches every day.
- Team get-togethers.
- Interest clubs from running to music.
