Product Owner Contract Role, Ireland
Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to lead the delivery of digital initiatives aligned with strategic business goals. Working within a cross-functional agile team, the Product Owner will be responsible for shaping the product vision, prioritising the backlog, and ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of digital solutions that meet user needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and articulate a clear product vision that aligns with the company's digital strategy.
- Translate business needs into actionable user stories, features, and acceptance criteria.
- Own and maintain a well-groomed, prioritised product backlog in collaboration with the development team.
- Define Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and manage iterative releases based on business value and feedback.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the business and the development team.
- Ensure backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for sprint planning.
- Make timely decisions to remove blockers and maintain team velocity.
- Attend and contribute to all agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives
- Engage with key stakeholders across Marketing, Customer Service, IT, Legal, and Operations to gather requirements and feedback.
- Communicate product goals, progress, and outcomes to stakeholders at all levels.
- Lead product demos, reviews, and stakeholder engagement sessions to align expectation
- Define clear, measurable objectives and key results (OKRs) for each initiativ
- Use product analytics and user feedback to evaluate product performance
- Incorporate insights into continuous backlog refinement and future planning
- Ensure the product delivers value and aligns with KPIs and business goals.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- 4+ years' experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in a digital or technology-driven environment.
- Strong understanding and hands-on experience with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
- Proven ability to manage a product lifecycle from discovery to delivery in an agile setting.
- Experience in writing clear user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and using tools like Jira, Confluence, or equivalent.
- Demonstrated success in collaborating with cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with product discovery techniques, user research, and data-driven decision-making
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g. finance, healthcare, legal)
- Understanding of user experience (UX) and customer journey design.
- Knowledge of OKRs or other outcome-based planning frameworks.
- Familiarity with product analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Amplitude).
- Professional certifications such as Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or SAFe Product Owner/Manager.
