Aerospace Data Center is a research department in Antanas Gustaitis' Aviation Institute, responsible for research capabilities development, leadership in interdisciplinary and interinstitutional cooperation.

Role Description

This is a full-time or part-time hybrid or on-site role for a Junior Research Scientist at Vilnius Gediminas Technical University. The role is located in Vilnius, but some work from home is acceptable.

Key job responsibilities include:

• Assisting in research projects, conducting experiments.
• Collecting, managing and analyzing data.
• Preparing reports and collaborating with other researchers. 

Possible research areas include:

• Autonomous vehicles, autopilot algorithms.
• Drone applications (integrating sensors, drone design changes, software).
• Computer vision algorithms for drone/satellite image processing.
• Data preprocessing (visual, numerical).
• Application of technologies for prototype production.

Qualifications

• Research, data collection, and data analysis skills.
• Proficiency in using prototyping equipment and conducting experiments.
• Report preparation, technical writing, and documentation skills.
• Collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a hybrid work environment.
• Good written and verbal English communication skills.
• Master's degree.

Nice To Have

• Python or C „family“ skills
• Experience with testing and deploying ML/AI algorithms.
• Proficiency in conducting drone flights, STS certificate

Salary per full-time equivalent: 1846 € (before taxes) + variable component
