UX Designer – Design System & Common Components

Location: Main placement is Solna, Linköping or Göteborg. There may also be opportunities for placement at other Saab sites.

Your role

We are looking for a passionate and experienced UX Designer to join the Product Tech department within Group Digitalisation. In this role, you will be instrumental in shaping and maintaining our design system, developing common UI components, and supporting teams across the organisation in adopting new systems and procedures. You will work closely with the business, developers, product owners, and other designers to understand the end users perspectives and ensure a consistent and high-quality user experience across our digital products.

Key Responsibilities

• Define, maintain, and evolve the organisation’s design system and component library.
• Enabling modularity from a UX perspective as part of our modular software architecture
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and end-users to develop reusable UI components.
• Collaborate with relevant roles to ensure that aesthetics serve clarity without compromising institutional or product identity.
• Provide guidance and support to teams across the organisation in adopting the design system.
• Ensure design consistency and usability across platforms and applications.
• Advocate for user-centred design principles and best practices and, sourcing best practices for these from within Saab and from external sources using a science-based approach.
• Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote design system usage.

Your profile

Required:

• Proven experience in UX design, with a focus on design systems and component libraries.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating design system contributions and UI/UX design skills.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Ability to work across teams and influence design practices at scale.
• Ability to communicate fluently in both Swedish and English.
  
  
  

Preferred:

• Experience working in large-scale software organisations.
• Familiarity with front-end development and component-based frameworks (e.g., React, Angular).
• Knowledge of UX in mission-critical contexts and UX to increase situational awareness.
  
  
  

This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.
