Job Description

A Network Administrator plays a critical role in managing and maintaining an organization's communication networks. They are responsible for installing, configuring, and supporting the organization's local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), and other data communications systems. Network Administrators are also tasked with ensuring the network's security and reliability, monitoring network performance, and optimizing the network environment to support the organization's operations. Highly skilled in problem-solving and technical expertise, they work closely with IT teams to implement network solutions that align with the organization's goals. Network Administrators must have a keen attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure, as they are crucial in troubleshooting network issues and maintaining network uptime.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure network hardware and software for optimal performance.
• Monitor network performance and ensure network availability and reliability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues promptly to minimize downtime.
• Maintain network security by implementing necessary security measures and protocols.
• Conduct regular network assessments and audits to identify areas for improvement.
• Collaborate with IT team to design and implement network solutions.
• Provide technical support and guidance to end-users regarding network usage.
• Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities accurately.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in network management.
• Manage network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs effectively.
• Prepare and maintain a disaster recovery plan for network systems and data.
• Handle procurement and budgeting for network and telecommunications equipment.
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role is required.
• Strong knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco, JUNOS, and others.
• Excellent understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching architectures.
• Experience with network security, firewall configuration, and intrusion detection systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot network hardware and software issues effectively and efficiently.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate with various teams and provide user support.
• Familiarity with network monitoring tools and network diagnostic utilities.
• Certification such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent network certification is desirable.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment to meet network demands.
