CommBank Health is Australia’s first truly end-to-end digital payments solution for the healthcare industry. We provide secure and convenient payment, claiming, and directory capabilities for healthcare payer schemes, providers, and patients. Our platforms include mobile apps, CommBank SMART terminals, web portals, and partner product integrations.

You’ll be part of the Web and Mobile team responsible for all customer-facing functionality related to Smart Health. This includes the touchscreen smart terminal for processing payments and its seamless integration with the CommBank Health Claim Merchant Porta

As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll be hands-on coding and be responsible for shaping the evolution of systems by designing and developing microservices, data access layers, web portals, API(s), and writing integration services for third-party API consumption, as well as learning more about back-end engineering. You'll also be invited to join our regular engineering guilds and provide technical guidance to the junior members of the team.

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We don’t expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

• Proven hands-on experience in developing backend applications using .NET Core
• Expertise in setting up and maintaining ASP.NET implementations
• Demonstrated knowledge of micro services and REST API Integration
• Sound grasp of data integrity, system security, and unit testing
• Thorough knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular or React)
• Ability to create database designs for both relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with public cloud engineering - AWS or Azure and Kafka/event-based architecture
• Understanding of monitoring tools and CI/CD pipeline
