SystematixCyber Security Analyst

We are Systematix and we’re currently seeking two CYBER SECURITY ANALYSTS to support our client, a large public utility in Saskatchewan’s natural gas sector. These are intermediate level, long-term and on-site, in Regina, SK.


The Analysts will play a key role in cyber monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response across the organization's corporate and industrial infrastructure. The ideal candidates will have 1–2 years of direct cybersecurity experience with previous IT experience and a solid foundation in security event monitoring, endpoint defense, and network protection. Experience with tools such as next-generation firewalls, IPS, email/web filtering, and endpoint protection is required. Recognized certifications (e.g., Security+, CCNA Security, CEH, or CISSP) are mandatory.


Location: Onsite – Regina, Saskatchewan

Start Date: As soon as possible

Duration: Through March 31, 2027, with up to two automatic one-year renewals

Work Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM CST

On-call: Required on a rotational basis (1-week intervals)

Overtime: May be required

Functional Area: Enterprise Security Department – covering cyber, physical, and personnel security across corporate IT and ICS/SCADA infrastructure.


Requirements

Mandatory Requirements

• 1–2 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related IT role

• Cybersecurity monitoring, incident handling and response

• Hands-on experience with vulnerability assessment tools

• Experience with security tools: email/web filtering, endpoint protection, firewalls, IPS

• Security certifications: CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security, CEH, or CISSP

• Must be able to work full-time onsite in Regina, SK


Desired Experience & Skills

• Experience preparing and maintaining security procedures and documentation

• Reviewing phishing emails and assessing threats

• Developing cybersecurity awareness materials and training content

• Offensive security skills: Pen-testing, Python, PowerShell, DevSecOps

• Familiarity with cloud security: Azure, AWS, GCP, Office 365

• Knowledge of ISO 27001/27017/27018, NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK

• Strong communication and team collaboration skills


Deliverables

• Monitor and respond to cyber incidents and alerts

• Conduct vulnerability and threat risk assessments

• Manage use of endpoint and network protection tools

• Support policy and procedure documentation

• Develop training and awareness content

• Participate in on-call and after-hours support rotation

• Collaborate with security, IT, and OT teams across the enterprise
