Junior Software Engineer – Graduate Opportunity


Location: Remote (UK-Based)

Salary: £28,000 – £35,000


The Opportunity:

Our client is looking to hire a bright, enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer to join their collaborative, fast-paced tech team. This is a fantastic graduate opportunity to contribute to the development of modern, scalable applications across web, mobile, and cloud platforms.

Ideal for someone at the beginning of their software engineering career, this role offers hands-on experience working on real-world projects alongside experienced developers, product managers, and designers. It’s a chance to grow your skills quickly in a supportive, agile environment.


From building new user features and refining system performance to contributing to API development, you’ll be involved in meaningful, impactful work from day one.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, building, testing, and deploying software solutions as part of an agile team
  • Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code across front-end and back-end systems
  • Participating in code reviews, sprint planning, and stand-up meetings
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including design and product
  • Applying best practices in source control, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
  • Debugging issues and contributing to continuous system improvements
  • Keeping up to date with modern development tools and practices


What Our Client Is Looking For:

  • A recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, Java, C++)
  • Understanding of core software engineering principles, data structures, and algorithms
  • Exposure to web frameworks or tools (e.g. React, Node.js, Django)
  • Eagerness to learn and build high-quality software solutions
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Full right to work in the UK – sponsorship is not available for this position


Desirable Skills (Not Essential):

  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Experience using Git and Agile methodologies
  • Basic understanding of databases (SQL or NoSQL)
  • Personal or academic coding projects – GitHub links are encouraged!
