Role Overview: We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain the core applications that power our platform. This role involves developing scalable backend services, managing databases, designing and implementing frontend components, and deploying applications on cloud infrastructure.

As part of a small, highly technical team, you will work on everything from backend APIs and data pipelines to React-based frontends (Next.js). You will play a key role in ensuring our system is efficient, reliable, and user-friendly, contributing across the entire stack—from databases to cloud infrastructure to frontend development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain full-stack applications, including backend services (FastAPI, PostgreSQL) and frontend interfaces (React, Next.js).
• Design, implement, and optimize APIs to support real-time environmental data processing and visualization.
• Manage databases, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and performance optimization (PostgreSQL).
• Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud), including containerized services (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Enhance frontend applications, building interactive and scalable user interfaces using React (Next.js).
• Ensure security, scalability, and performance across all layers of the application.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers to operationalize machine learning models and integrate them into production applications.
• Automate infrastructure and development workflows, supporting DevOps practices to streamline deployments.
• Write clean, maintainable code and contribute to software documentation and best practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in full-stack development, including both backend (FastAPI, Python, PostgreSQL) and frontend (React, Next.js, TypeScript).
• Strong knowledge of API development, database management, and cloud-based application deployment.
• Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud preferred, AWS or Azure also relevant).
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work across the full stack in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a startup setting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with geospatial data processing and visualization.
• Knowledge of data streaming and real-time processing architectures.
• Familiarity with authentication and security best practices (OAuth, JWT).
• Experience integrating machine learning models into production applications.
