Network Architect
Rate: $750 Inclusive of Superannuation
Location: Sydney
Contract Duration- 5 months duration
Description:
Core Responsibilities:
• Network Design and Implementation: Architectural design, High level and low-level design of an IP network in telco industry
• Device Configuration and Management: Solution design of connectivity and interworking of routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.
• Network Security: Design and Implementing network security policies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), and network access control (NAC).
• Documentation and Standardization: Documenting network configurations, procedures, and policies, and ensuring adherence to industry standards.
• Collaboration: Working with other network designers, solution architects, and business stakeholders to ensure network requirements are met
Provide Technical direction for the account.
Technical review of proposals.
Capacity monitoring, input to the Solution Architect for Capacity Management.
Risk identification.
Risk assessment.
Recommendations – Input into SA/Sales.
Internal – Efficiencies, Exploiting technology to benefit service delivery.
Own/Maintain architecture map.
SME in Problem Mgmt.
SME in Major Incidents.
Technical review of project changes.
Technical dashboard/catalogue.
CAB attendance.
PIR Review -Particular focus on the recommendations to prevent again.
Define and review best practices for technical activities.
Deliverables
Weekly summary of activities completed, in progress and forthcoming activities.
Customer monthly report input on-
Capacity
Risks & Issues
Achievements
Monthly Architect Meeting – Strategic.
Reduced Incidents and Problems – Improve Availability.
Increased and expanded penetration of Capgemini services and technology into customer.
Best practices for technology and supporting technical processes.
Knowledge and Skills:
• IP Protocol Knowledge: A strong understanding of IP protocols, networking concepts, and technologies.
• Network Design and Architecture: Experience in designing and implementing network architectures for various environments.
• Security Knowledge: Knowledge of network security principles and technologies.
• Communication and Collaboration: Good communication and collaboration skills to work with other IT professionals and stakeholders.
Experience and Education:
• Education: A bachelor's degree or Tertiary qualification in computer science, telecommunications, engineering, or a related field is often required.
• Certifications: Industry certifications, such as Cisco certifications (CCIE, CCNA, CCNP), is highly desirable
