Senior Data Scientist Consultant
(Hybrid office working setup)
About the Company
We’re working with a globally recognised digital consultancy that partners with major brands across sectors to design, build, and scale data-driven platforms and intelligent products. Combining engineering excellence with a human-centric approach, this organisation has spent over 20 years helping clients turn AI and machine learning into real-world impact from prototypes to fully productionised solutions.
Joining their data science practice means working in a collaborative environment where you’ll solve complex challenges, drive innovation, and help shape the future of applied AI.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Scientist, you’ll be responsible for designing and delivering advanced ML and AI solutions to tackle a wide range of business problems. You’ll combine hands-on modelling, deployment, and monitoring with mentoring and thought leadership across engagements. This is an opportunity to drive end-to-end value: from EDA and experimentation through to production deployment and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct EDA to uncover key trends, variables, and anomalies, and build usable, impactful Data Science products.
- Engineer and select features to maximise model performance and business impact
- Develop predictive and classification models using both classical approaches (regression, clustering, time-series) and advanced algorithms (XGBoost, LightGBM)
- Tackle NLP, computer vision, and generative AI use cases leveraging frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Transformers
- Deploy models into production using modern MLOps tools and practices (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker Pipelines)
- Monitor models over time to manage drift, retraining, and performance metrics
- Translate technical outputs into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders and product teams
- Ensure solutions adhere to data privacy standards and employ responsible AI techniques (e.g., explainability, bias mitigation)
- Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, mentoring junior team members, and promoting best practices across the practice
Skills & Experience
- Strong programming ability in Python (NumPy, Pandas), plus familiarity with R and SQL
- Expertise across ML and DL frameworks (Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face Transformers)
- Experience building solutions in Databricks, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker, or GCP Vertex AI
- Familiarity with experiment tracking and automation platforms such as MLflow, Kubeflow, or Weights & Biases
- Awareness of modern cloud-native AI architectures, scalable infrastructure, and data pipeline design
- Understanding of data governance frameworks and how ML solutions fit into secure environments
- Critical thinking. Should be able to assess where AI/ML can deliver business value
- Excellent communication for translating complex concepts into accessible insights for non-technical audiences
- Leadership for mentoring colleagues and championing innovative approaches to AI
