- Develop and automate ingestion, transformation, and delivery workflows using tools such as Apache Spark, Databricks, Snowflake, or Airflow
- Collaborate with Data Analysts and Scientists to define requirements, map data flows, and ensure data reliability
- Implement robust validation, cleaning, and monitoring processes across the data stack
- Drive automation around reconciliation, metadata management, and error handling
- Optimise pipeline performance for scalability, resilience, and cost-effectiveness
- Apply security best practices, including role-based access controls and encryption, while ensuring compliance with regulations such as GDPR
- Contribute to technical client engagement, acting as a trusted advisor on data architecture and strategy
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a collaborative, high-performance team culture
Skills & Experience
- Strong programming experience with Python, SQL, Scala, or Java
- Expertise in big data tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Spark, Hadoop, Databricks, Snowflake)
- Solid understanding of cloud-native data solutions in AWS (Glue, Redshift), Azure (Synapse, Data Factory), or GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow)
- Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra) and dimensional modelling techniques
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD practices for data workflows
- Ability to design robust data models (dimensional, relational, hierarchical)
- Knowledge of building fault-tolerant, highly available data architectures
- Proven capability in enforcing security controls and documenting data lineage and governance
