Title: Software Engineer (Full Stack)

Location: Toronto, ON (Mostly remote, but proximity and willingness to join team meet ups in Toronto office is good)

Duration: 6+ months Contract (possible extension and conversion)

Primary Skills: TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, React, Redux, Jest, Cypress, Pytest, SQL, NoSQL, Git

Secondary Skills: AWS, IaC, CI/CD, UX/UI

Summary

• We are seeking a mid-level software engineer with 5–7 years of professional experience to design, develop, and maintain scalable software solutions.
• This role requires strong frontend skills (React/TypeScript/JavaScript) and working knowledge of backend (Python) development.
• You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and design to implementation, testing, and deployment. You’ll work under general supervision but are expected to operate with independence and initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy modern web applications using React and RESTful APIs
• Build and support backend services using Python
• Design and integrate RESTful APIs to work with both SQL and NoSQL data sources
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality features
• Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure software quality and reliability
• Support application deployments and troubleshoot issues across dev and production environments

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional software development experience
• Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and modern React (hooks, component architecture)
• Proficiency in backend development using Python, especially in a serverless AWS environment
• Experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of software development principles and Agile methodologies
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
• Experience with testing frameworks and version control (Git)

Nice to Have

• Experience with infrastructure as code (e.g., Serverless Framework, AWS CDK, Terraform)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools
