Brightsmith are working with a global leader in electric mobility and energy solutions who are dedicated to advancing intelligent charging technologies across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific supporting thousands of charging and fleet facilities.

They are seeking an experienced Backend Developer to join their growing North American team, with a focus on designing and building backend infrastructure for a smart EV Charging management platform serving commercial fleets across North America and Europe.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with technical and product leads to align on priorities and contribute to system design decisions
• Deliver reliable, scalable, and secure code to enhance distributed controller and cloud platform performance
• Manage and deploy backend cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS
• Perform code reviews, create documentation, and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts
• Support and mentor fellow developers as the team expands

Qualifications:

• Experience in software development within Agile/Scrum environments
• Strong backend development skills using JavaScript, TypeScript, and Node.js
• Experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway)
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or MySQL
• Containerization and networking experience (e.g., Docker)
• Solid grasp of clean code practices and fundamental software development principles.
• Knowledge of scalable systems architecture and backend system design.
• Willingness to travel internationally several times per year (e.g., to the U.S. or Europe)
